this is the first song by us ! exciting :)

I wrote the words for this song in september 2019 , I was going thru a bit of a weird time and feeling quite detached from reality . I think the song is about feeling like youre floating through the world , like everything’s falling apart around you in so many ways and you keep getting up and going to work and just feeling like…. Wow being alive sure is somethin isn’t it !
The words aim to capture that period in time , there were quite a few protests , and I remembered really vividly one where a bunch of us got cornered in by fascists and cops and just looking at it all happening and feeling like it was so real and so far away all at the same time , I remember walking around a park afterwards and feeling really struck by the beauty of the sun and the trees and feeling so much realer than I had in a while
Its kind of about drifting through different levels of connection with the world around you. This constantly developing understanding of what’s real , where sometimes it feels like nothings really there , and sometimes it feels like you’re so intensely a part of everything

sucks the curtain through the open window

if im looking for trouble then that must be what i want

the itch is over but i keep on scratching
more out of habit than a real reaction
we killed the queen , the army fell
i never had to hold a gun

the hours are empty but they keep you captive
tell all your children to go play in traffic
a cordon of clueless cops standing still

no longer waterlogged or stuck
now i keep on walking though i tried to stop
if im looking for trouble then that must be what i want

vague distraction that has kept me so confused
complete distrust in what i cant choose not to do
did it fall from a clear blue sky
i think i know what happened but i cant prove that im right
